Britta Lange ist Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaftlerin. Mit dem Forschungsprojekt »Gefangene Stimmen«, das sie am Institut für Sozialanthropologie an der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Wien und am Institut für Kulturwissenschaft an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin durchführte, habilitierte sie sich im Jahr 2011. Seit 2014 ist sie Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Kulturwissenschaft der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, von 2016 bis 2018 war sie Co-Sammlungsleiterin des Lautarchivs der Universität. In ihrer Forschung befasst sie sich mit der Kulturgeschichte des 19. bis 21. Jahrhunderts, der Geschichte und Theorie des frühen Films und früher Tondokumente, Konzepten des Sammelns und Ausstellens, Kulturtechniken sowie mit kolonialen und postkolonialen Konstellationen.
Britta Lange is an art and cultural scholar. With the research project »Captured voices«, which she conducted at the Institute for Social Anthropology at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna and at the Institute for Cultural Studies at the Humboldt University Berlin, she habilitated in 2011. Since 2014, she has been a lecturer at the Institute for Cultural Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin, and from 2016 to 2018 she was co-collection manager of the university's sound archive. Her research focuses on cultural history from the 19th to the 21st century, the history and theory of early film and early sound documents, concepts of collecting and exhibiting, cultural techniques, and colonial and postcolonial constellations.
